The Physician’s Index is published by the Philosopher’s Information Center, a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to serving the global philosophical community.

The center was founded in 1967 by Dr. Richard H. Lineback, who continues to serve as president.

The most important contribution of the center is the publication of philosophy’s preeminent reference resource, The Philosopher’s Index. The Philosopher’s Index has remained the most authoritative and comprehensive bibliography in philosophy for 50 years.
